Beth Sillen’s most recent mixed media work involves explorations of color, texture and improvisation – all rooted in memory. For “The Flower Show", Beth chose work created from life in the studio of painting instructor, friend and mentor Judy Martin. Beth writes, "Judy always had an excitement about pulling objects from her garden or home to use in class (mason jar/tulips, milk bottle/daffodis). Judy’s studio was an extension of her home (and vice versa), and this was a great inspiration to me". Judy was a long-time friend of Gallery Jupiter and passed away this March; Beth wanted to include a memories of Judy for this show.
