WORKSHOP AND LECTURE, AUG. 10TH, 3-6 PM

Bauhaus to Your House: Learning the Language of Color

  • 120 US dollars
  • Gallery Jupiter

Service Description

Learn the language of color based upon the color wheel developed by Johannes Itten, an influential 20th century Bauhaus instructor. The Itten color wheel, still in use today, was based upon color contrasts such as warm and cool, large and small, and light and dark. Becoming familiar with these principles will change how you use color in your life and in your painting or photography. You will leave with a color composition critiqued by Meryl. Light refreshments will be served. Meet Your Instructor: Meryl Blinder From 1999 to the present Meryl Blinder has been an adjunct professor at the Wentworth Institute School of Architecture and Design in Boston. She has taught color theory, drawing, and 2D and 3D design. From 1987 – 1997, Meryl was a colorist for Michael Graves Architect in Princeton, NJ. Supplies - Please bring an X-acto knife and a metal-edged ruler for paper cutting.  - We will provide the following supplies: Color Aid paper, Color Aid duo stick glue, and illustration board.  Date Thursday, August 10, 2023, 3 - 6 p.m. Gallery Jupiter 31 Church Street Little Silver, NJ Cost $120 (supplies included) Please call Gallery Jupiter to register: 732-530-8035
